The Trump administration is pushing for $400 billion in new spending on renovations, commercial general contractors and excavation contractors, a senior administration official said on Thursday.
Trump’s budget includes a $1 trillion package of new tax breaks for construction and business, as well as the construction of a border wall.
The new spending is part of a package that would boost the economy, boost jobs and provide more tax relief for businesses, the official said.
The White House budget director also included $400.2 billion in economic stimulus spending, the senior administration aide said.
